Well, today's update is posted, but if you've scrolled all the way down here then you already know that. Since there's very little going on in comic-creation news, I figured I'd give you some insight into the origins of the characters you've met thus far.
Croesus, the monk apprentice and the druid Gliss all got their start in a Dungeons & Dragons campaign from a couple of years ago. I ran the sessions and played Croesus, Scott gave life to the apprentice monk, and Gliss is the creation of our friend Paul. There were plenty of crazy antics to go around, and when Scott approached me about writing a web comic we both knew that old campaign was a perfect starting place.
I suppose that I should note that while Paul's character was the original inspiration for Gliss, his version of the character wasn't nearly so haughty or annoying. I've taken a bit of creative license with the plot and all the characters from the campaign; D&D campaigns don't usually translate well from game to story without a nudge here or there.
Well, that's about all I can say about the campaign right now without giving anything away. As time goes on, I'll give a few more glances into the history of the story and characters.
Happy reading!
